As I was searching for Win Win blog topics, I came across something VERY interesting that I wish I had thought of – but even though I didn’t, I just have to give kudos to the idea. The Gratitude Journal was created by and can be found at Greater Good, the science of a meaningful life.
In the simplest terms, it is a community gratitude journal, open to all who’d like to express their thanks or share a happy thought. It was just started on July 1st, but I hope that it will pick up momentum. Many of us take advantage of the good in our lives. We get our noses out of joint when things DON’T go our way, but when things are terrific, we don’t even acknowledge it.
Let’s change our ways right here and now. Once a day, write down what you are grateful for. Put it on your “To Do” list. Make it a habit like brushing your teeth or taking your vitamins. Just get a little notebook a jot down a sentence every single day. Today was sunny. I heard a great joke. I saw the cutest dog. I ate the most scrumptious brownie today. You’ll find that the positive things in your life FAR outweigh the negative when you make an effort to realize them.
Give it a shot and let me know how it goes!
